[...] Wow, that has been a busy 4 weeks! Alongside working I have been undertaking an online course in Advanced Strategic Project Management being offered by Villanova University in the USA. I am now half way through the 8 week course, and I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying myself – even though it has meant working in the evenings and weekends. Take a look at my previous blog post here. [...]

Thanks for pointing out that not all project managers are the same. However, I do think that you use the same skills no matter what size the project is. You also do not mention the differences between a PM with one project to manage, and a PM with multiple projects on the go at once. At any rate, any project manager can be helped with a good Task Management program, such as Clarizen A good task management program should be flexible enough to handle a simple project or a complex one, exactly like a good project manager.

Having read yesterday that Google+ is opening up for organisations, and the impact that will have on the resources we currently assign to online social media, I think saturation point is a fair description.

However I believe that these tools will start to merge, rather than continue to fragment. We can see this already in what Google+ has tried to achieve with its use of circles, which (if it had the activity) would save the need for me to update my Linked In and Facebook accounts separately. Once you begin to introduce apps to personalise your experience, you start to get a sense of how a one-stop shop could work.

Now that Facebook are beginning to add the best bits of Google+, there will be an interesting battle between over the coming years.

Thanks Brenda, agree with you that project management is part of everyone’s daily life, and is not restricted only to project managers. Thanks for the input!

I agree. Learning is a continuous process and like computers we need updates. Knowledge has never been acquired only in the 4 corners of schools and will not only be bound to the 4 corners of the office or to any workplace. Here are some thoughts by different professionals in different fields.
